Darijan Jonson is the first artist under Draki Records.
He is also the musical pseudonym of Darijan Ducic: born in 2005 in Priboj, a small town in Serbia, and raised in Fano, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, after moving there with his family at the age of two.
That geography matters. Not because it makes the music easy to explain, but because it gives it a certain tension. Serbian roots. Italian education. English lyrics. A life that keeps moving between places, languages and versions of the self.
Darijan grew up in the Marche region, went through school in Fano, and spent years carrying a quiet need to write. Before the songs, there were pages. At eighteen, he started writing poetry more seriously and later published an Italian collection called La Camera d'Ambra.
The book was not a side note. It was the first public sign of a habit that had been there for years: taking private thoughts and giving them a shape.
Before the songs
Music had been in the background for a long time.
Darijan had always wanted to make songs of his own. He went to the studio a few times with friends, tried to get close to the process, and kept circling the idea of becoming an artist. But for years, nothing fully came out. Not because the desire was missing. More because desire alone is not enough.
At some point, you have to sit down, choose a sound, finish the lyric, accept the first version of your voice and put something into the world.
Darijan Jonson starts there.
Not as a character built from nowhere, but as a name for the part of Darijan that had been waiting to make music seriously. A name for the songs, the visuals, the experiments and the fragments that did not fit anywhere else.
A life between startups and songs
Today, Darijan is involved in the startup world. He has built a large audience online, with tens of thousands of followers on LinkedIn, while working on ambitious projects across Europe and America.
That world is fast, public and often practical. Music gives him the opposite space. It is where he can try things that do not need a pitch deck. It is where sound, writing, design and instinct can meet without asking for permission first.
Darijan Jonson is shaped by that contrast.
The songs are mostly in English, but Italian words often appear inside them. Sometimes they are there for meaning. Sometimes for texture. Sometimes because a certain feeling only arrives in the language it first belonged to.
Sound, image, identity
Darijan has always been drawn to art, graphics, visual identity and the act of making things feel like they belong to the same world.
That is important for Draki Records. We are not interested in songs as isolated files. We care about the full artist world: the name, the cover, the voice, the visual language, the story around the record and the choices that make the project recognizable over time.
Darijan Jonson is the first version of that idea.
An artist project built from biography, poetry, travel, startup culture, design instincts and a long-delayed need to make songs.
The first artist under Draki Records
Every label begins with one artist.
For Draki Records, that artist is Darijan Jonson.
The project begins close to home because that is where most honest creative work begins. A childhood between Serbia and Italy. A book of poems written in Italian. A young founder moving between continents. A private love for music that kept surviving in the background until it finally became something official.
Darijan Jonson is not here to explain everything at once.
He is here to start releasing.
